The bright blue dots, in the picture, are the representation of stars in our galaxy (Milky Way). Our galaxy has about 200 or 300 billion stars like our Sun. Our galaxy moves like a huricane where the eye is the center of our galaxy. Not long ago, our solar system has increased his speed from 500,000 to 600,000 miles per hour; this means , it takes our Sun, with its planets to make a perfect circle or revolution of the Milky Way, 150,000 light years, knowing that one light year is equal 6 trillion miles. One interesting thing about the solar system, it is positioned about 26,000 light year from the center of the galaxy that represents almost half of the radius of the Milky Way that is 50,000 light years.
Today, many people, media, bloggers, and websites have great concerned about 2012 comet impact. One thing, I want to add about 2012. Our galaxy does not work like we do on Earth where most people are all about themselves, but they fail to realize one depends on each other. Our solar system works like a car engine or our body where everything is one. If one part of our body is affected , definitely, you feel the effect of it as it is for a car engine. What I am trying to say, we are all connected to our galaxy. More increase of the speed of the center of the galaxy will enfluence our solar system as well as other systems like ours. As mentioned earlier, the increase of speed of our solar system indicates, considering the Sun speed has been increasing exponentially for a period of time, that we are shrinking toward the center of our galaxy. This may, of course, affect business as usual or lead to collision among stars or comets. I am telling no one to be alarmed. I believe our gorvernment and NASA are very much aware of what can happen to our solar system. As a matter of fact, in Jan. 12, 2005, NASA launched "Deep Impact" a statellite that will mash Comet Temple I that was 250 million miles from us. In July 4, 2005, the satellite shot a missile at that comet. And They were very satisfied of the impact.
I hope I may answer some of the concerns.
